The relationship between OMEGA and the Olympic Games

This time, we will be taking up a story of the relationship between OMEGA, a watch maker that is well known amongst many people, and the Olympic Games, a international sporting event.

The story of Omega and the Olympics begins in 1932 in Los Angeles – the 10th Olympic Games.

In the Olympic, Omega acted as an official timekeeper for the first time and has supplied all of the event’s watches and technical timekeeping equipment since then as an official timekeeper.

This is why the brand and its logo are visible all time throughout the massive sports competition.

Tokyo 2020 will be the 29th time that OMEGA has acted as Official Timekeeper for the Olympic Games.OMEGA extended its Worldwide Olympic Partnership with the IOC through to 2032, when the company will mark 100 years since it started its relationship with the Olympic Games in 1932.

OMEGA has released numerous Olympic limited-edition timepieces every time the Olympic Games are held. A total of 5 different Speedmaster variants, which is limited to 2,020 pieces, were released for the Tokyo Games.
